so proud of myself.

Lance Armstrong talked to me, just after I almost got bitten by a dog!

Ok, there’s more to the story then that. I am SO proud of myself so I had to share, of course. I just ran my best 5K and my best mile, all in one beautiful go. On the last kilometre of my run, I ran down by a house where I knew that *sometimes* they have a dog out in their tree-covered yard that can be very ferocious and almost bit my Grandpa a few years ago, but he hasn’t been out when we’ve been past for walks for a few months.

Well he was out today. Crazy shock to the system huh? I’m dying to finish my 5K in under 30 minutes so I’m running, running, running, having a great time listening to Feist when HE comes out of the yard, bounding with ferocious teeth.

Oh yeah, that’s a nice surprise. So I’m yelling and yelling and yanking my dog away and totally prepared to kick this dog for my own safety when I have to, when the dog decides to go home. All right…

I finished my run strong and as I’m cooling down the Ipod speaks to me, and it’s Lance Armstrong, congratulating me on my best mile so far (8 minutes 30 seconds, please and thank you). Shocking! To think that Lance would make the time in his busy workout schedule to congratulation ME! Ok, I know I’m being ridiculous, it’s just the endorphins talking.

And because this post couldn’t be JUST about my personal fitness goals, the first picture in the post is an amazing scene from my travels to Florence, processed with the soon-to-be-released 15+ Jamie Delaine Actions.
