just do it!

Check out how cool THAT IS! Somehow it’s so much more rewarding to go out for a run, and come home and have the treat of being able to play with all these cool gadgets. Nike has this awesome system where you stick this sensor in your shoe and connect a wireless piece to your Ipod Nano and boom! You are plugged in. It’s wonderful!
I bought the Nike+ shoes (nikeplus.com) a few months ago, because I’ve been eye-ing this system for even longer than that. I need new shoes, so I thought I’d buy some that were compatible. I’ve been using the shoes for running w/o the Ipod Sport Kit, because that was another $40. I finally sprung for it yesterday and I love it.
My runs are so short, it’s pathetic; but hey, it’s better than nothing, right? I’m going to start to work my way up to an average of three miles everytime I go out, instead of two. So, if you ever want to challenge me, my username is jamiedelaine and I can’t figure out how to browse other people’s runs. So if you can help me out; that’d be great. I know a lot of photographers have this lately, so we need to start some sort of challenge, that I will most definitely lose. But that’s OK, it’ll make you feel better.
website updates!
August 25, 2007

I finally sat down today and got the time to put some new images on my website, including a few from my Europe travels earlier this summer. You can find them under the “travel” section of jamiedelaine.com.
Although I’m not accept wedding clients as of now, I put up a “wedding” section on my website just to show off a bit of my work from the past few weeks! I plan to accept wedding work in the Spring/Summer of 2008.
Enjoy&let me know what you think.

the browns.

Can you say FUN?! Seriously: this is one of the funnest shoots I’ve had to date! The Browns are such good family friends and I go to school with their oldest daughter, Brittany. We’ve known each other for quite a few years and have only gotten closer since we started attending the same church about two years ago.

The Browns have this ROCKIN’ property that is a photographers dream. Rusted machinery, fences, fields, barns, everything! When I showed up at the shoot, I was so impressed. They totally thought everything through, from a formal outfit to a more casual one and locations they wanted.
Clients: this is what I want a family shoot to be about. It’s not about going to a studio and just smiling. It’s about your lives, your relationships, what you do day-to-day. We just had so many ideas for things that were important to them. From a lampost that Dad & Son put in, to an old wheel that belonged to their Grandpa’s farm years and years ago–the shoot was so meaningful!

You may recognize Brittany from my website–she’s been on there since we launched a few months back. I was just telling the Browns last night, that first (free!) shoot with Brittany meant SO much to me. It was the first time I actually took my camera out with somebody and said, hey, let’s try this and see what happens. Guess what? I loved it, had confidence in myself, prayed a lot, started this business and here I am. So thanks Brittany for letting me drag you around your property those many weeks ago!

I’m so honored that I was able to create these memories for you guys. I hope you love these pictures: I loved taking them, loved editing them, and I love showing them!

And one last picture of Brittany that I captured and LOVE! You are such a model, girl.
